Our Financials
Our work of going into the world of youth, walking with them in friendship, and introducing them to the love of Jesus would not be possible without our donors. We are incredibly thankful for each generous gift we receive, and consider it our honor to steward our resources well.
Here’s how your donation helps us make youth known in Hong Kong, by name and for a purpose.

Most of our income comes from private donations, and some from event registrations which only partially cover the costs incurred.

Financial Transparency
We aim at keeping 12 months operational expenditure in our bank account for our “Operational Reserve” and any excess funds in our “Opportunity Reserve” to continue our mission without undue interruption or hardship and to pursue special targets of opportunity as they arise.
The financials in this page are consolidated from our Hong Kong and U.S. funds. The Hong Kong financials are in the process of being audited. Our external audit is conducted by Philip Poon & Partners CPA Limited. Some of the expense accounts in the audit have been collapsed into the above categories for ease of understanding. Our fiscal year follows after Young Life, from October 1 to September 30 of the following year. All currencies are in HKD.

Staff Salary & Benefits | 同工薪酬及福利

Young Life is nothing if not relationships. Our greatest strength is leaders who have known the extravagant love of Christ and are eager and equipped to overflow this love to the youth of this city. That’s why the bulk of our budget is for our “Staff” costs.
This allows us to support full-time field staff with not only a liveable wage in one of the world’s most expensive cities, but also the ability to maintain their own holistic health and well-being as they do the hard work of reaching kids for Christ with and for the Church.
This also allows us to support part-time operations staff who work to keep our mission running, with a heart for meaningful partnerships and sustainable growth.

Our “Camps & Programs” costs are spent on reaching kids through time-tested methods filled with fun and adventure — Contact Work, Club, Campaigners, Camp, and Student Leadership — all with the aim of walking with youth in friendship, introducing them to Jesus, and helping them grow in their faith.

Our “Office” costs allow us to have a hub of hope in the midst of Hong Kong. When we are not meeting kids where they already are, we are gathering together to pray, plan, and prepare in our ministry teams. Our convenient location also allows us to host leadership meetings and trainings, as well as more intimate events.

Our “Fundraising” costs support our annual $5.6 million budget and include fostering meaningful partnerships with individuals, churches, organizations, and foundations, as well as organizing donor-centric fundraising events so that we can share the vision and increase our capacity to reach more youth for Christ in our city.

We are only able to do what we do through the generous gifts of our donors. We are so thankful for each one who has seen the need of the youth in our city and supported our mission to reach each one of them for Christ.
Our donors come from all walks of life — from teachers to bankers, stay at home moms to university students, pastors to entrepreneurs — and we are so thankful that God has enabled our mission to connect this diverse community in a common mission.
